Melvyn Basil Kennedy was born in New Zealand and grew up in the North Island, Waikato District on a dairy, sheep and cattle country farm before moving to Australia in 1970. He loved the country life and still does. He dreamed of building his first home as a young boy on the farm, a tree hut which he did, it was his little sanctuary.
